Globalization and access to worldwide markets has enabled streams of innovative and disruptive business ideas, models and practices, allowing Youth & Women entrepreneurs to embrace and benefit from opportunity corridors for both global investment and growth opportunities. At the heart of knowledge dissemination, innovation and fast expansion models are startups and SME's riding the waves of change and facing challenges, especially in early stages. ​
 
The Economic and Social Committee for Asia and the Pacific Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Taskforce on Youth & Women Entrepreneurship is comprised of recognized experts in relevant areas that wish to contribute to the Taskforce mission. Its values, scope and modalities are intrinsically aligned with:
  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the overarching value system of ESBN, with a special focus on:
    • SDG 4: Quality education
    • SDG 5: gender equality
    • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
    • SDG 17: partnerships for development

ESBN YWET Scope & Modalities

Scope
  1. Creating Physical and Digital OCs based in the Asia-Pacific and adjacent Silk Road regions and for those aiming at creating or developing a business therein, including value-based digital platforms to support entrepreneurial activities
  2. Supporting Gender Equality Women’s Empowerment and Social inclusion initiatives
  3. Creating, co-contributing and supporting Entrepreneurship programs (online/offline) that foster innovation, business opportunities, gender equality, environmental sustainability and social inclusiveness
  4. Disseminating entrepreneurial best practices and business ethics in different entrepreneurial modalities
  5. Enabling digital international connectivity hubs for a high-mobility, new generation of Entrepreneurs
  6. Creating, enabling, leveraging from and supporting entrepreneurial-related Information networks to better support new generations of man and women entrepreneurs
  7. Identifying and facilitating novel educational channels that  promote ongoing education and professional development
  8. Promoting the connection and active engagement of the business sector with entrepreneurs and early stage businesses through participation in taskforce activities and programs
 
Modalities
  1. Identifying key players in entrepreneurial value chains and connecting them to the taskforce ecosystem
  2. Undertaking an active role in partnering and exploring joint opportunities with research institutes, policy / government / non-government bodies
  3. Promoting entrepreneurial education programs from both offline Institutions and  MOOCs
  4. Defining, framing and supporting the drafting and dissemination of upcoming policies, procedures and best practices to promote entrepreneurship excellence
  5. Exploring opportunities in public-private sector collaboration
  6. Leveraging from digital technology tools to enable interaction and information dissemination of taskforce activities.
